After a short time away from acting, to resolve the transition from business owner to actor, Sal won the role, of “Salvador Lopez”, lead character, in “My Family”. “My Family” is a feature comedy about a patriarch resisting change to his “old school” world while his family embraces the “new” culture. “My Family” required Sal to apply his natural comedic timing and his Hispanic cultural expression to give the film a “reality show” feel. Filming of “My Family” was completed in July and is in post production. In 2009, Sal continued to win roles for leads in productions which called upon his familiar caring patriarch character but in “The Practice Kill” his darker side was exposed in the role of “Joaquin”, a cold blooded assassin, who introduces his reluctant son into the killing business. In addition to film acting Sal recently completed a commercial ad workshop with Mike Pointer/”Hey, I Saw Your Commercial and is seeking to increase his exposure via T.V. commercials and print ads. Currently Sal is continuing to hone his skills under the guidance of Director, Adam Collis at the Actors Dojo. “Acting has always been a part of my life. I know 80% of what I do requires some sort of selling and selling requires acting, like it or not. Whether I am selling products or talent skills; acting is involved. But most importantly my “audience” deserve 100% of my ability and 100% is what I always try to give”. Sal lives in Los Angeles where is does most of his acting.
